On 13 June 2025, the ESTSS Future Leadership Group (FLG) 2025-26 held an Early Career Networking Event during the ESTSS Conference in Tbilisi. The event brought together around 30 students and early career researchers and clinicians from across Europe to strengthen ESTSS’s early career network and foster future opportunities for collaboration, peer support, and knowledge exchange.
During the 60-minute, in-person event, attendees had the opportunity to discuss personal and professional challenges, share ongoing work, aspirations and achievements, and outline their motivations for pursuing a career in the field of psychotraumatology. The small-group discussion format encouraged open and meaningful dialogue, allowing attendees to connect in an intimate and supportive setting.
Conversations carried on beyond the event throughout the conference, which itself provided valuable opportunities for early career professionals to present their work and network with a wide array of experts working across psychotraumatology fields in – and beyond – the European region.
The FLG Early Career Networking Event was well attended, demonstrating a strong interest in, and value of, strengthening ESTSS’ early career network. ESTSS’ FLG will be organizing follow-on early career events and activities to strengthen cross-country collaboration, peer support, mentorship, and communication amongst young psychotraumatology researchers and clinicians across Europe.
