The ESTSS welcomes Dr Isaac Galatzer-Levy as one of the keynote speakers appearing at ESTSS 2025. Dr Galatzer-Levy is a Senior Staff Research Scientist at Google, leading research on using sensors, algorithms, and artificial intelligence (AI) for psychological applications, such as measurement and health agent development. In addition, as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, his research focuses on applying machine learning to predict and characterize traumatic stress responses using multimodal signals, including epigenetics and video. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles and holds patents for mental health measurement and delivery technologies.
Under the title From Heterogeneity to Personalization: Computational Methods, AI, and the Future of Scalable, Personalized Digital Interventions, he will address the heterogeneity of presentations in the PTSD diagnosis by presenting over a decade of findings that map individual differences, revealing common trajectories, high-dimensional predictors, and common biological pathways.
“My keynote will focus on emerging machine learning and particularly generative AI research methodologies to characterize and predict health and psychopathology at scale,” he said. He will explore how using emerging generative AI approaches can provide interventions that adapt to highly personalised needs, potentially solving key challenges in the identification highly individualised needs following potentially traumatic events.
ESTSS 2025 will bring together speakers and delegates from across the world to respond to the theme, Exploring New Approaches for Healing and Recovery in Times of Global Uncertainty and Extreme Stress. On the conference’s focus Dr Galatzer-Levy said: “The conference theme indicates the importance and challenges in scaling the key knowledge base emerging from established understanding of the unique responses to trauma.”
