The Trauma Observatory (OT) has completed another edition of the general course in psychotraumatology. 33 students, mainly psychologists and psychiatrists, qualified for the general certificate in psychotraumatology issued by ESTSS. The certificates were awarded on October 12 in Coimbra during a conference entitled "The trauma in the mirror: psychotraumatology, media and memory studies". This event had the particularity of celebrating the return of the OT to face-to-face meetings and served to announce its upcoming scientific project that will focus on the study of trauma in the light of psychotraumatology, memory studies and the media. This new project of the OT coincides with the admission of two new members to the coordination: researchers Margarida Calafate Ribeiro and Inês Nascimento Rodrigues. At the same time, the OT pursues its goal of establishing a close relationship with the surrounding community and, in particular, with professionals working in potentially traumatic situations, through the permanent availability of a psychosocial counselling service by telephone and e-mail, as well as through the maintenance and promotion of its network of therapists specialised in trauma.
