The NtVP was founded on May 9th, 2006. This year we celebrate its 15-year anniversary. A typical Dutch tradition is to hand out treats to your friends and family on your birthday. Therefore, we decided to give away some treats of our own. For each year of our existence, we handing out a present via our social media accounts, such as books on psychotrauma-related topics, access to webinars and free entrance to our annual conference. In addition, we organize an online interview series, hosted by esteemed and well-known NtVP members. Each host will invite an inspiring guest of their choice for a personal discussion. The speakers talk about the past, present and future of the psychotraumatology profession, and about how this has affected them personally.
The first interview (in English) was held by emeritus professor Berthold Gersons, founder of NtVP and ESTSS and former president of both societies. His guest was professor Alexander (Sandy) McFarlane, a renowned international expert on PTSD and stress. The second interview (in English) was held by former NtVP board member and former ESTSS and ISTSS president professor Miranda Olff. Her guest was professor Karestan Koenen, a renowned international expert in the field of PTSD and genetics, and advocate for victims of sexual violence. All previous episodes of the interview series are freely accessible on our website: https://www.ntvp.nl/activiteiten/psychotrauma-interview-webinars/. The next three interviews are soon to be announced on the same webpage. We welcome you to join the celebration and enjoy the treats of the interviews!
