Only one week to go until the 17th Biannual ESTSS conference! We are excited and eager to welcome you in Belfast. The local organizing team, headed by Cherie Armour and Dominic Murphy, created a rich and interesting programme with a great variety of keynotes, symposiums, workshops, masterclasses and more. On estss2023.com you can visit the programme and map out your schedule. You are also very welcome to join the Special Interest Group meetings and social events, and there are still several tickets available for the pre-meeting workshops on Wednesday June 13th. Also, have a look out for the special 30-year anniversary celebrations throughout the conference!
In the past months, the ESTSS4UKRAINE Taskforce has continued with the initiative “helping the helpers”, offering supervision sessions for mental health workers in Ukraine to help them relieve the psychological consequences of the Russian invasion. Within our traumatic stress community we are committed to continue our support throughout the ongoing war in Ukraine, but sustainable help is needed. In this newsletter you can find more information on how you could help and contribute through the Taskforce or donations.
In this newsletter you can also read about:
- the “Advancement of internet-based interventions for trauma and stress-related disorders” Webinar on May 12th, organized by the Lithuanian Traumatic Stress Society (LTPA) in collaboration with ESTSS;
- the latest news from the Global Collaboration on Traumatic Stress, including other upcoming traumatic stress events;
- the second webinar of the newly formed Developmental Trauma SIG’s webinar series on risk and resilience mechanisms of developmental trauma, on June 28th, and;
- the announcement of the General Assembly on June 14th.
Hope to meet you in Belfast or at one of our upcoming events, sincerely,
Joanne Mouthaan
ESTSS President 2023-2024
