The Elfriede Dietrich Foundation has produced the film in conjuction with the German speaking society of trauma therapists (DeGPT) to inform about the potential consequences of traumatic events and their treatment. The film has 10 subtitle streams with English, French, Russian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Croatian, Turkish, Ukrainian and Georgian subtitles. These translations were performed in cooperation with the European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ESTSS).
The film shows interviews with patients suffering from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other posttraumatic disorders as well as with trauma therapists explaining the symptoms of these disorders and approaches to their treatment. The film is meant to help patients and their relatives to understand the disease and to get professional help. It also aims to inform those working in various fields such as physicians, psychologists, staff of humanitarian organisations, the police, nursing staff, teachers and child-care employees about the characteristics of posttraumatic disorders and how they can be treated."
