The annual conference of the DeGPT (The Dutch-speaking Society for Psychotraumatology) will take place 29 May 2026, at The Colour Kitchen in Utrecht.
Coping with and processing trauma never only affects the individual – it resonates in families, communities and systems. The conference will reflect on the many shades of social support and connectedness that contribute to resilience and recovery. At the same time, we also highlight the downside: relationships, environments and a compromised sense of belonging can also be a source of psychotrauma. This complexity makes connectedness a powerful and challenging theme that affects us all.
The conference bring together researchers, psychologists and practitioners to explore how relationships, context and culture influence the process of trauma processing. Just like a palette full of colors, recovery from trauma is an interplay of factors in which connection and recognition are central. Delegates will share scientific insights and best practices from treatment practice with each other in order to stay abreast of theoretical, empirical and clinical developments.
