ESTSS Board Meets in Athens

The ESTSS Board met in Athens on 26 May 2026, bringing together representatives from across the Society’s European network to review current activities and discuss priorities for the coming period.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange updates from ESTSS member societies and consider how the Society can continue to strengthen collaboration, increase its visibility and support the development of psychotraumatology across Europe.

Discussions covered membership development, local and international activities, and opportunities to disseminate knowledge through conferences, webinars, podcasts and other ESTSS communication channels. The Board also reviewed ongoing initiatives supporting early-career professionals and the development of future leadership within the Society.

Preparations for the 18th European Conference on Traumatic Stress, which will take place in Coimbra in 2027, were also discussed, together with other activities designed to strengthen cooperation between ESTSS and its member societies.

The meeting confirmed the Society’s stable position and shared commitment to expanding opportunities for professional exchange, education and collaboration across the European psychotraumatology community.

Alongside the formal discussions, the meeting offered valuable time for Board members to reconnect in person and continue building the relationships that underpin ESTSS’s work.

ESTSS extends its warm thanks to our Greek colleagues for their hospitality and for welcoming the Board to Athens.
